Drilling Systems
Boart Longyear's dolomit drilling system has reamers fitted with three symmetrically arranged carbide tips. This system is mainly used in medium to hard rock formations. The reamers can be assembled in two positions allowing the tips to be placed at either 10 or 30 degrees from each other, which provides more flexibility in matching the bit to the drilling conditions. The Dolomite system is normally supplied with a female thread. Other thread types are available upon request.
In addition to our dolomit drilling system, Boart Longyear produces large hole drill heads with round shank picks as well as with cutting teeth. These heads are mainly used for drilling of blasting relief holes in rock formations with medium hardness.
